Bybit Web3, the NFT marketplace and Web3 subsidiary of the cryptocurrency exchange Bybit, has announced its latest foray into the metaverse. Through its partnership with the virtual commercial city LightCycle and Hape 2.0, the NFT marketplace will be celebrating an iconic celebrity’s virtual concert.
English singer and songwriter Robbie Williams is hosting his 25th Anniversary concert as a solo artist in the metaverse. The iconic celebrity was once part of a pop band called Take That. Titled “Robbie Williams Beyond Reality in LightCycle – A Virtual Music Experience,” the concert will be presented by LightCycle, a 3D metaverse experience.
Bybit Web3, being the official NFT marketplace for the concert, will facilitate ticket sales, collecting memorabilia, and other non-fungible treats. The NFT platform will also onboard more Robbie Williams fans and Bybit users through social giveaway campaigns. The giveaway rewards include tickets and signed concert merchandise. Bybit equally boasts a user-friendly interface to ease the onboarding process and ticket purchases.
The latest collaboration between the English singer, Bybit Web3, Hape 2.0, and LightCycle, is a big step into bridging the realms of music and NFTs. Highlighting this point, Bybit CEO and co-founder Ben Zhou said:
“This partnership marks a key milestone for Bybit Web3. We want to bring Web3 into everyone’s daily life and aim to break new ground in the entertainment industry by seamlessly integrating the power of blockchain into the virtual concert experience.”
Similar to Robbie Williams’ 25th virtual concert, Decentraland deployed its third music festival in the metaverse in late November 2023. The music-themed digital experience saw more than 80 performances from artists, accompanied by other treats from attendees’ interaction with one another.
Time will tell if the upcoming non-fungible virtual event will give a similar thrill!
